A brief history of these pages is as follows:

1. the original document was an article that appeared in issue 62 of the Bulletin of the Confraternity of St James in 1998; the introduction to this article is still relevant, so is available here.
2. first webpages were set up in 1999
3. so much happened on the Camino front that the pages were revamped in 2003
4. an update article was written in 2003 for the Bulletin, but never appeared as it was simply too large! The introduction to this article is available here
5. route pages completely revamped end September 2005, and converted to database
6. changes from October 2005 are listed below; those from 2003-2005 can still be seen here
