The Roads to Santiago - Route Details

Camino Mozárabe/Via de la Plata
Seville-Mérida-Salamanca-Astorga

740km (approx)
Highest point: Pico de la Dueña 1140m
From Seville to the Camino Francés at Astorga; see website of the Amigos del Camino de Santiago de Sevilla.
There is some confusion over the naming. Strictly speaking, the Via de la Plata is the Roman road Mérida-Astorga (Iter ab Emérita Astvricam), later Seville-Astorga, though the term is also used for two further branches from Zamora: the Camino Sanabrés, and the Bragança route. To confuse matters further, the term Camino Mozárabe is also used to mean the Granada branch.
