GR655 - St Quentin-Paris-Tours
This is waymarked as the GR655: from the Via Gallia Belgica at St Quentin via Compiègne and Paris, and then either a western route via Chartres (GR655 ouest) or an eastern route via Orléans (GR655 est). The route through Eure-et-Loir is shown on the Carte et Guide touristique.
As the GR meanders in places, a more direct route (93km) for the Compiègne-Paris section is suggested by the Amis de Saint Jacques à Compiègne (a similar guide for the St Quentin-Compiègne section is under development). Similarly, the Chartres Amis recommend a shorter route from Epernon to Vendôme than the GR.
