For years I have kept my own documentation of the various systems I use, in text files on my system. It strikes me though that some of it may be useful to the wider world, so I’ll put extracts on pages in this section. As you may gather from the list of topics, I’m a fan of open-source software; I try and run exclusively open-source systems.
IT is a fast-moving business, and this sort of info is soon out of date. I’ll try and maintain these pages as I have time, but may not always have time. Caveat lector!
Update, November 2009: Ho, hum, another 4 years gone by. In yet another departure, I have now set up a separate blog on blogger.com. The theory here is that these are for posts that are even more temporary than IT texts generally are. We will see how that evolves, and whether I'm any better at writing regular posts for it than I have been for my walking blog.
